What a fabulous trip we had to Colorado. We packed up the car and headed out for the 15 hour drive. We left at 7 at night which was great because the kids slept for a solid eight hours! My mom came along for the trip too, it was great! We stopped in Colorado Springs to visit the Garden of the Gods. The scenery was amazing and the kids loved climbing on all the rocks.
Even Daddy was loving climbing the rocks!
The rocks, the sky...everything was fabulous!
Kali lasted the whole hike-she wanted to climb on everything too!
Next stop was the Indian cave dwellings. The indians actually lived in these caves, the kids had fun exploring, climbing AND learning!
I'm all for some educational fun, but the next stop on the road trip really got me excited...A tour of a candy factory! What? Was this for real? And it was free? Double score!
Check out these classic candy favorites...Blake had to get the Pop Rocks, he loves that stuff!
And look what I found-candy cigarettes! Looking back I think, why on earth did anyone think it was a good idea for kids to be walking around pretending they were smoking? There were the straight candy kind and the the gum kind that actually puffed out sugar when you blow on them. I don't know about you, but the Round Ups were always my favorite brand...
Can you imagine trying to make cookies on a kitchen aid like this one?
It's hard to believe we packed all that and driving into one day! Stay tuned for some more of our adventure!
